In the presentation, the FM Nirmala Sitharaman suggested replicating the ‘zero-budget farming’ across the country. She said, “Ease of doing business and ease of living should apply to farmers too.” She believes such steps will help farmers double their incomes by 2022.
Apart from this, the government will also work with all the states to allow farmers to benefit from the National Agriculture Market or eNAM. She proposes to provide the water to all rural households under the ‘har Ghar jal’. Also, supplying adequate drinking water is a major concern for the government.
FM Nirmala Sitharaman also pointed out that since 2014 we accomplished to construct 9.6 crore toilets.
More than 95% of our cities and 5 lakh villages are now open-defecation free. By October 2, the whole country will be open defecation free. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna – Urban, over 80 lakh houses have been sanctioned.
FM Nirmala Sitharaman also said about the development of Gandhipedia pointing out the positive Gandhian values to sensitize youth and society at large. In the field of technological institutions, India couldn’t make in top 200 in 2014 but now there are five of them which make it to this list, added FM Nirmala Sitharaman.
Soon India will be a hub of higher education. An initiative ‘Study in India’ will soon be started for the exchange of foreign student.
