Lok Sabha Election 2019: Yesterday, there was voting in Delhi, Haryana and other states under Phase 6 of Lok Sabha Polling 2019 where a polling agent was arrested in Haryana Faridabad for allegedly trying to influence voters.
The poll agent caught in the camera which went viral on social media. In the video, the polling agent was wearing a blue T-Shirt where it clearly is seen that the agent walking up to the polling booth as a woman prepares to cast her vote. As per the video, he approaches the woman and press a button on the EM or pointing the woman to a party symbol. After that, he promptly returns to his seat. Not just that the man repeats the act in influencing two other women.
On this, the Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa confirmed that the polling agent was arrested Sunday afternoon and report on the issue will be examined by the Election Commission. However, the district election office in Faridabad said the voting was not compromised.
DEO Faridabad tweeted, “Prompt action taken. FIR lodged. The person is behind bars. Observer enquired the matter personally and is satisfied that polling was never vitiated.”
