Gold price gains in Asia as investors eye on US central bank summit
Gold prices gained in Asia on Monday as investors waiting for the latest Federal Reserve review on rates and on the same day the Bank of Japan expected to detail results of a review on its easing policies.
Speculation is mounting that Fed officials, in a statement scheduled for release on Sept. 21, will signal that higher U.S. interest rates are on the way.
Crude Oil climbs approx 1.50% in Asia
Oil prices rose almost 1.50 percent on Monday, after Venezuela said OPEC and non-OPEC producers were close to reaching an output stabilizing deal and as clashes in Libya raised concerns that efforts to restart crude exports could be disrupted.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has said that a deal could be announced this month to stabilize oil markets, which have come under pressure due to a persistent glut and a price collapse over the past two years.
OPEC members, led by Saudi Arabia and other big Middle East crude exporters, will meet non-OPEC producers led by Russia at informal talks in Algeria between September 26 and 28.
