The Assembly Election 2018 of 5 states – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, and Telangana has finished now. The counting of votes has finished in each of this state.
Congress becomes the largest party in Madhya Pradesh which secured 114 seats while the BJP has secured only 109. Congress is the single largest party in MP after 24 hrs. of counting. Although the BJP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave a close fight to Congress while looking for the fourth time despite anti-incumbency.
On this, Kamal Nath declares victory in Madhya Pradesh and said “A new history is to begin. We have written to Governor to seek an appointment to prove our majority in the state.”
However, in Rajasthan, the Congress party just missed the majority mark and secured 99 seats. On the other hand, the BJP had to settle in 73 seats only. Rajasthan is one of the states where the government needs to pay a lot of attention in job creation. And the counting of votes indicates that people of Rajasthan voted against politics of hate. Most people factored that Rajasthan is to go to Congress but nobody expected Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh to go Congress’ way.
In Chhattisgarh, the Congress succeeds to secure 68 out of 90 seats while BJP secured 15 seats only. After the massive gains, the Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi addressed a press conference. This huge loss of BJP led to the resignation of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh who accepted his defeat and resigned to the governor.
On the BJP defeat, the Congress President Rahul Gandhi said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn’t fulfill his promises he made to the people of the Country.”
Even the West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has also reacted to the poll trends saying demonetization was among the many reasons behind the defeat of BJP party.
