Two nations – India & Russia come together in a defence cooperation to get a quantum jump which Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi describes as “special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia” in order to strengthen the future relationship between two countries.
In 19th India Russia bilateral summit, the meeting along with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had seen the Ministry of Commerce, Petrol, and Export etc. thus indicating it is more just than a defence deal and include various economic factors from HRD to energy, trade to investment, and technology to consumption.
In short, the partnership will not highlight the S-400 air defence shield and navy warships but also India’s manned space mission, metros, building locomotives, and co-operation in surface railways.
Apart from this, the Russian President Putin invites PM Modi as the Chief guest for a business forum in September 2019.
India and Russia also talk about increasing mutual investments up to $15 billion to grow by 21%. They are planning to jointly develop an economic forum where Russia to provide hydrocarbons to India and LNG.
The Sides welcomed the conclusion of the contract of supply of the S-400 Long Range Surface to Air Missile System to India and reaffirmed for cooperation between India and Russia. Both sides showed complete satisfaction at the significant process made on ongoing projects of military and technical cooperation and recognized the positive shift towards joint research and joint production of military-technical equipment between the two countries.
