After the killing of 40 CRPF personnel in Pulwama last month, it is the first grenade attack in Jammu General Bus Stand on today (Thursday) afternoon. It was a planned attack by suspected terrorists which carried out in the crowded general bus stand area.
This is not the first but the third grenade attack by terrorists in Jammu since May last year which belief, is only an attempt to disturb the communal harmony and peace in the city.
1 dead and 32 are injured due to the grenade Jammu attack in general bus stand which transferred to government medical college. The deceased has been identified as Shariq, son of Intzar of Kalyanpur, Hardwar.
On this, the Inspector General of Police (Jammu) M K Sinha confirmed that the grenade was lobbed from inside a bus and also added that there were no alerts from intelligence agencies prior to the attack.
Inspector General also added that “Whenever there is a heightened state of alert we step up checking. There is always a possibility of someone to slip through…appeal everyone to remain calm. Police are working on all leads.”
