The NSE 50-share benchmark index which opened on a flat note at previous trading session at 10,807.90, closed lower at the level of 10,737.60, 57.35 points down.
During its trading session it touched an intraday low of 10,692.35. The benchmarks started the index on bearish note due to weakness in global markets and sell-off in FMCG and banking stocks.
