The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty50 index which opened near 11,863.65 at previous trading session closed on a lower note at 11,709.10, 119.15 points down. During its trading session, it touched an intraday low of 11,682.80.
On the other hand, the BSE-Sensex index which opened near 39,449.45 at previous trading session closed on a lower note near 38,969.80, 382.87 points down.
Both the benchmark indices of the domestic market were dragged down by profit booking on May 21, a day after clocking strong gains on the back of exit polls for Lok Sabha Election 2019.
As a result, all the sectoral indices were ended in red led by pharma, auto, IT, metal, energy, FMCG, and banks.
Taking cues from the previous trading session, it is expected to see a flat opening in today’s trading session.
