The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty50 index which opened on a flat note at previous trade on Wednesday near 10,931.05 closed lower at 10,831.50, 91.25 points down. During its trading session, it touched an intraday low of 10,811.95. The dragging in the benchmark indices is by index heavyweights.
The ITC was the leading contributor of the fall which falls nearly 4 per cent after its Q3 results. As a result, the index formed a big bearish candle on the daily candlestick charts. Most of the sectoral indices closed in the red.
Taking cues from the previous trade and global sentiment it is expected to see a flat opening in today’s trading session. Although after opening the market could go either way.
Budget Update: The Finance Minister Arun Jaitely will not present the government’s crucial interim Union Budget 2019 because he is expected to undergo surgery.
