The NSE-Nifty50 index which opened at 11,463.65 closed on a higher note near 11,570.00, 124.95 points up. During its trading session, it touched an intraday high of 11,588.50. It is a sixth-month high that market touched on Thursday and closed the March series expiry day on a strong note.
On the other hand, the Bank Nifty ends at record closing high on the hope of rate cut in April policy meeting and recapitalisation of PSU banks. As a result, the Bank Nifty index closed at 30,420.55, up 400.75 points.
The Indian rupee plunged to 42 paise to 69.30 against US dollar.
Taking cues from the previous trading session it is expected to see the flat opening in the domestic market.
