As expected, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) benchmark index opened on a flat note on the level of 11,474.95 from its previous closing level of 11,470.70. However, it starts plunging in its early trading hour and trading around 11,461.15 (09:24 AM IST). On the other hand, SENSEX has breached 38,000. SENSEX opened on a flat note at the level of 38,050.07 from its previous closing level of 38,024.37. Now it is trading around 38,000.
The market breadth is positive as 394 shares advanced, against a decline of 176 shares, while 55 shares were unchanged. Investors are booking profits in banks as well as indulging in fence-sitting ahead of State Bank of India’s results.
Update: The Indian rupee opened lower by 15 paise at 68.83 per dollar on Friday versus previous close 68.68.
