As expected the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index opened on a flat note slightly higher than its previous closing level of 11,053.80 to 11,079.80. But, it gave up gains within the first minute of trade which explained the flat sentiment.
On the other hand, the BSE-Sensex opened on a flat note at the level of 36,691.93 from its previous closing level of 36,542.27. Similar to Nifty index, the Sensex lost its gains the minute it opened. Investors are reacting to developments around customs duty hike that the government announced on Wednesday.
The top gainers among Nifty 50 are GAIL India, Asian Paints, Ultratech Cement, and Titan, however, the top losers are M&M, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, and ZEEL etc.
