The Indian major stock exchange National Stock Exchange (NSE) has recently announced the new weekly Options contracts on Nify50 index. In a circular ref. no. 05/2019 dated on Jan. 07, 2019, NSE announced that on the continuation to Exchange circular no. 39765 dated Dec. 18, 2018, regarding Introduction of Weekly Options Contracts on Nifty50 index.
The new contracts shall be in effect from Feb. 11, 2019, for trading in Futures & Options segment. The settlement procedure shall be intimated by NSE Clearing Limited. Apart from the new expiry contracts, there will be no further changes in the structure. Among the Future indices, the Bank Nifty is the only index with the weekly expiry option contracts but from Feb. 11, 2019, the Nifty50 Options contracts will also expire on weekly basis.

To be noted, that the first series will expire on Feb. 14, 2019, and second on Feb. 21, 2019. Soon, the Nifty50 options will expire every Thursday of the week. In case, the Thursday is trading holiday, then the contracts will expire on the previous day.
