Today the BSE-Sensex opened at the level of 33,935.88 from its previous closing level of 34,134.38. Currently, the index is trading below 319.80 points at the level of 33,814.58. (02:54 PM IST)
The reason the equity benchmarks were in the negative territory as rupee’s fresh fall against the US dollar and weak global cues dented the sentiment.
During its trading session, over 180 stocks hit the fresh 52-week lows including Infibeam, India Cements, IIFL Holdings, DHFL, Infibeam Avenues, Indian Bank, IL&FS Transportation Networks, D B Corp CRISIL, CG Power and Industrial Solutions, Canara Bank, Grasim Industries, Dalmia Bharat, Bajaj Corp, Asahi India Glass, and Dilip Buildcon among others.
Most sectoral indicies were in the red on BSE, with oil & gas, healthcare and energy suffering the most.
