Today, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index opened on a flat note at the level of 10,310.15 from its previous closing level of 10,316.45. However just after the opening, it plunged and trading near 10,262.65, 53.80 points lower (2:52 PM). During its trading session, it once came below the 10,200-mark.
The Nifty energy is the only sector in the green led by Reliance Industries which is up by 2.5 percent followed by Hindustan Petroleum, India Oil, and GAIL India. On the other hand, the metal sector is down by 5 percent – Hindalco, Jindal Stainless, SAIL, Vedanta, and Tata Steel.
Some stocks managed to hit fresh 52-week highs in today’s session on NSE. This list includes Aavas Financiers Ltd., Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd., Jain Studios, and Spacenet Enterprises India Ltd. etc. But, there are more than 500 stocks that have hit the 52-week lows include Primal Industries, 8K Miles Software, JSW Energy, Aban Offshore, Jaiprakash Associates, Apollo Tyres, InterGlobe Aviation, Bajaj Auto, IDFC bank, Bharat Forge, Godrej Properties, Godrej Industries, Bombay Dyeing, Century textiles, Dish TV, CG Power, and Edelweiss Financial among others.
