On today, the domestic market’s two major indices Nifty and Sensex are both in negative territory on sustained capital outflow owing to a fresh fall in the Indian rupee and strengthening US dollar. The Nifty index opened on a flat note at the level of 11,514.85 from its previous closing level of 11,520.30. The index couldn’t sustain its opening level and plunged to the levels below 11,500 and trading at 11,418.45 (5 Sep, 1:44 PM IST).
Weak global cues and trade war are also behind this sentiment. Over 90 stocks including Hindustan Petroleum, Accelya Kale Solutions, Bharat Petroleum, Aptech, Idea Celluar, Castrol India, Centum Electronics, HDFC Asset Management Company, IRB Infrastructure, and Videocon hit 52-week lows on NSE.
Nifty Pharma and IT indices were in green, rest in red.
