Sun Pharma, an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company has reported a quarterly loss because of the one time charge due to legal settlement. The result has surprised many analysts as they expected profits to rise in the second quarter.
The company reported a net loss of 2.19 billion rupees for the quarter ended which ended on September 30 when compared with the profit of 9.12 billion rupees it earned in the same quarter last year.
The analysts estimated the profit of 10.35 billion rupees, according to IBES data from Refinitiv.
However, the revenue from operations has increased by 4.3% to 69.38 billion rupees.
