Tata Power, one of the largest power generation companies in India has report an increase in second quarter profits by 88.46%, owing to the rise in revenue from its power business.
The company reported a net profit of 3.36 billion rupees for the second quarter when compared with the 1.78 billion rupees in 2017.
The revenue from the operations has also seen a significant rise of 6.7% to 73.33 billion rupees. However, the revenue from the power business only rose by 8%.
In the same quarter last year, the company also incurred a one-off charge of about 1.49 billion rupees.
