The U.S stock index futures opened lower in the early trading session on Tuesday as there are concerns among the investors with regard to the rising interest rates.
S&P opened slightly lower at 2877.49 and Dow also opened lower at 26,469.19. The downward trend also continued at the Nasdaq that also opened lower at 7728.51.
The investors are not concerned with the strong economic data which was released last week. There main concern is rising interest rates. Federal Reserve Chairman, Jerome Powell, has also indicated that the rates may be hiked further.
The main cause of worry for the investors is that the rising interest rates create a negative implication on the stock markets, which also limits profits of the companies. If the profits are affected, then the investors get lower dividends and the employees may also get the lower pay.
