The U.S stock index futures brought a disappointing news for the investors in the first week of September as it opened lower on Tuesday because of trade worries between the China and Canada.
The futures for the Nasdaq fell to 8087.96, while Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled to 25,964.84. The Standard & Poor's 500 index futures also disappointed the investors at it opened lower at 2896.61.
President Donald Trump has announced that the U.S will impose fresh tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods. It is expected that the China will adopt tit-for-tat policy and may also levy tariffs on the U.S goods, which may ultimately affect the global markets.
Furthermore, the trade talk meeting between the United States and Canada has ended on a futile note that took place last week on Friday. The next round of meeting will be held on Wednesday with Canada demanding a renewed The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) deal.
